CSE© is a designation for sales managers and top level executives
certified by Sales & Marketing Executives International, the worldwide
association of sales and marketing management.
For many years, sales and marketing executives have needed a program
that certifies professional competency in sales or marketing. It is
important to recognize the marketing and sales professionals who have
met and surpassed the high standards of education, experience,
knowledge, and ethical conduct, as is done in other professions. This

What Are the Criteria?
To qualify to sit for the exam, candidates must meet the highest
standards of education and experience as established by one of the
profession's most distinguished panel of experts and universities. If the screening standards are met, a
rigorous exam must be passed to ensure mastery of all key concepts in
your certified discipline. Candidates who successfully pass the
educational, experience, and testing requirements are then awarded
professional certification. Following is the criteria:
1. Attain a minimum of 35 points from the Accreditation Chart.
2. Provide a complete application so that your experience and reference
points above can be verified.
3. Study the materials sent by SME (recommend 2 months of part-time
study before the testing date).
4. Successfully pass a 4-hour certification examination and sign the
Code of Ethics.
What Are the Certification Objectives?
The CSE Certification Program is sponsored by Sales and Marketing
Executives International through the SME Accreditation Institute as a
professional service with the following objectives:
- To establish and maintain a uniform standard of professional
competency in the field of sales and marketing management as well
professional sales.
- To recognize professional expertise.
- To encourage continuing education and professional development among
sales and marketing
executives and professional salespeople
The Association:
SME-International is a non-profit professional association with
affiliated chapters throughout the world dedicated to the advancement of
professionalism, ethical standards and education for sales and marketing
